P.E Teacher
Job description
A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic PE Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis from September 2025. This full-time position will run for an initial period of six weeks, covering a staff absence within the department.
The school has a strong sporting culture and values the role of physical education in promoting student wellbeing, teamwork, and resilience. They are looking for a confident teacher who can engage students of all abilities and maintain high expectations both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

Plan and adapt sessions to meet a range of physical abilities and learning needs

Promote health, fitness, and participation through a variety of sports and physical activities

Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, both in lessons and during extra-curricular activities

Contribute to the wider school community, including support for sports fixtures and clubs where appropriate
The ideal candidate will:

Hold QTS or relevant teaching qualifications (ECTs are welcome to apply)

Have experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting

Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
-
Be passionate about physical education and the benefits of an active lifestyle

Be reliable, professional, and able to hit the ground running in a busy school environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
