Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a Secondary School based in Scarborough, who requires Outreach Support Workers or Intervention Teachers on a flexible basis from September 2019.
The ideal Outreach Support Worker will have experience in an educational environment, or working with young adults, whether as a Youth Worker, Support Worker, Intervention Teacher, Sports Coach, etc.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping young people achieve outcomes and be committed to delivering a high quality service. You will be a highly organised individual, experienced in working in a semi-independent provision, assisting young adults aged 11-16 years old. You must also be comfortable "lone working", and have a calm and resilient nature.
Key Responsibilities include:
- To deliver the work provided by the school and work through assignment with the young adults
- To provide emotional support to the young adults
- To act as a positive influence encouraging responsible behaviour and self-reliance
- To communicate effectively with all professionals involved with the care of the young people
- To write reports, updating the school about the young person's activities for the week/month
