Maths Intervention Teacher

Newport, South Wales

 

Teaching Personnel are seeking a brilliant Maths Teacher to fill a Maths Intervention Teacher post.  This role is full time and to start during the summer term.

The school are seeking a highly engaging, and motivated Maths Teacher with proven success of raising pupil attainment.

Start date: 25th April 2022.
Salary: In line with MPS (Minimum £141.71+ a day)

This position will initially be until April 2023. There may be an opportunity for the right candidate to join the school on a permanent contract pending a successful review.

The Role:

The successful applicant will be working as a Maths Intervention Teacher at a large secondary school in Newport.

The school are seeking a Maths Teacher who is experienced in delivering targeted Maths Interventions at KS3 and KS4.  You must be confident to take some occasional whole class teaching when required.

As a Maths Intervention Teacher, you will devise and deliver, under the direction of Maths Faculty leader, programmes for small groups to support their progress. You will be required to record and track pupil progress against the national curriculum level.

Specifically, you will also have responsibility for the Year 7 Maths Catch-Up programme at the school.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • An experienced Maths Teacher with QTS or equivalent.  NQTS are also encouraged to apply!
  • Demonstrable history of making positive interventions at KS3 and KS4
  • Experience delivering targeted interventions within Mathematics
  • Enthusiasm and creativity when delivering targeted lessons to groups of up to 10 students

Requirements:

If successful at interview you must be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS, EWC registration and provide 2 references. 

You will also be required to complete our Level 2 Safeguarding qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
