One To One Tutor Roles

Are you looking to make a real difference to pupil's outcomes, but outside of the classroom?

Here at Teaching Personnel we are working closely with permanently excluded young people, children at risk of exclusion, students with SEN, and children attending school part time. We offer a flexible work/life balance, allowing you to take on as many or as few students at any given time, conducting your sessions at a time that suits you.

As a tutor, it is essential that you…

  • Have current knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly English & Maths
  • Have recent experience working with children & young people, ideally on a 1-1 basis
  • Have a passion for teaching and improving outcomes

What will you be doing?

  • Tutoring children of mixed ages, abilities and learning needs on a 1-1 basis in their home
  • Tailoring your teaching style to the needs of the young person
  • Encouraging children to overcome challenges & engage with their learning
  • Planning and preparing lessons based on the child's abilities and progress
  • Liaising with parents/carers/social workers/council staff and compiling feedback on your sessions

Key points about the role…

  • Flexible working options - plan your sessions around your own schedule
  • No shortage of tuition referrals
  • Lessons take place at a student's home, or at a public place such as a library or community centre
  • Earn up to £25 per hour depending on experience
  • Lessons are typically 1-2 hours long, up to 3 times a week
  • Key Stage 1 to GCSE referrals available
