One to one Maths Intervention Tutor

In the summer of 2018, The Academy recorded record-breaking examination results, with 51% of the students achieving 4+ in English and mathematics. Supported by an extremely dedicated and passionate staff workforce, The Academy is currently the most improved academy in Portsmouth.

The school are seeking ambitious undergraduates, graduates, teachers or retired academics to work with our Year 11 GCSE students, supporting them to be better prepared for their English, Mathematics and Science GCSE's.

You will have an A Level or degree in English, Mathematics or Science and will be willing to structure intervention sessions addressing 'gaps' in students' knowledge. You will receive full support from the Head of English, Mathematics and Science in preparing materials that have impact on their young people. As a member of thier staff, you will be expected to uphold all of the Academy's policies, in particular those related to Safeguarding and Child Protection to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.

For any successful graduates, there also may be opportunity to transition onto the schools train to teach programme. The role is an excellent one to gain valuable school based paid experience.

The Academy can consider both full and part time applications. Salary is negotiable depending on level of skills, qualification and expertise. Interviews are arranged upon application and the advert will remain live until such time that the roles are filled.
