Nursery Teaching Assistant
Job description
Location: County Durham (DH9)
Start Date: ASAP / Negotiable
Salary: £80 – £95 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in County Durham to appoint a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is an exciting opportunity to join a nurturing school environment that places great emphasis on early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS provision
-
Leading small group activities to promote early learning goals, including phonics, numeracy, and communication
-
Providing individual support to children with varying needs, including those with SEN
-
Supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development
-
Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment, both indoors and outdoors

Assisting with observations, assessments, and maintaining learning records in line with EYFS framework
The Ideal Candidate Will:
-
Hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education
-
Have recent experience working in an EYFS setting
-
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development
-
Be nurturing, patient, and passionate about supporting young learners
-
Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
-
Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
