Nursery Teaching Assistant

Location: County Durham (DH9)
Start Date: ASAP / Negotiable 
Salary: £80 – £95 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in County Durham to appoint a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is an exciting opportunity to join a nurturing school environment that places great emphasis on early childhood development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS provision

• Leading small group activities to promote early learning goals, including phonics, numeracy, and communication

• Providing individual support to children with varying needs, including those with SEN

• Supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development

• Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment, both indoors and outdoors

• Assisting with observations, assessments, and maintaining learning records in line with EYFS framework

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education

• Have recent experience working in an EYFS setting

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development

• Be nurturing, patient, and passionate about supporting young learners

• Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
