We are working with a cluster of nurseries in Scarborough who have asked us for nursery and EYFS assistants to take on full time roles working with children aged 0-4 years, starting this academic year. Working as part of each unit you will be amongst a team of experienced practitioners, providing learning in preparation for the transition into Primary education. For those that need flexibility, there will be two posts available for bank/ supply support workers.
With roles at two different settings across Scarbrough, those with access to their own transport will have the opportunity to be included in the selection process of all roles.
Roles and responsibilities –
- Observe, monitor and interact with the children in the setting, focusing on a particular group of key children
- Provide extra support for SEN children in each class
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of the children, and guide their interaction toward beneficial learning to meet expected outcomes
- Manage the behavioural needs of the setting and keep children focused on objectives when learning/ playing
- Feed back to teachers, other members of staff and parents and record information about progression
For this role you should –
- Have previous EYFS experience
- Be calm and practice with a caring and nurturing outlook
- Be available Monday to Friday for the whole of the working day (excluding bank/supply staff applicants)
- Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (this can be applied for through Teaching Personnel should you not have already)
As many Primary schools are dealing with high numbers of children in their new cohorts next year, we are currently managing a large number of requests for staff. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
