SEN Teaching Assistant N14
Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join inclusive and well established schools in the N14 area of North London. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are committed to supporting children with special educational needs and making a positive impact on their learning and wellbeing. The role is available on both full time and part time schedules, with a daily pay rate of £90 to £105 depending on experience, paid weekly.
Schools in the N14 area provide structured and supportive environments where pupil development and staff wellbeing are key priorities. Teaching Assistants are valued members of the school community, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure that every pupil receives the guidance and support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and communication difficulties. You will help pupils access the curriculum, develop social and emotional skills, manage behaviour positively, and build confidence. Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing targeted support for individual pupils or small groups

Assisting teachers and SEN staff with personalised learning and behaviour strategies

Encouraging positive social interaction and communication skills

Supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused in lessons

Celebrating achievements and progress
Applicants should have a calm, patient, and professional approach, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience supporting children in schools, SEN settings, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or similar roles is desirable. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold a Child Only DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel. Satisfactory references covering the last three years of employment will also be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
