Job description

A welcoming and well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Christchurch is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join their team from February 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic practitioner to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Music lessons that encourage creativity, performance, and a lifelong appreciation of music, while contributing positively to the wider life of the school.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners

  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing clear feedback to support development

  • Contributing to extra-curricular music activities such as ensembles, performances, or school productions

  • Working collaboratively within a supportive and established department

The school is looking for a Music Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS (or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification)

  • Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Music education

  • Is committed to high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour

  • Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

  • Is keen to contribute to the wider school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
