About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Music to join their team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate practitioner to deliver high‑quality Music education within a collaborative and forward‑thinking environment. The successful candidate will support students in developing musical skills, creativity, and confidence while contributing to a culture of high expectations and achievement.

The Role: Teacher of Music
As a Teacher of Music, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire pupils and support their progress across the curriculum.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development, support pupil outcomes, and play a full role in the wider life of the school community.
What You Will Do
- Plan and deliver well‑structured Music lessons in line with curriculum expectations
- Create engaging learning experiences that motivate and challenge students
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress to support achievement
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and well‑managed learning environment
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families
- Support the wider life and ethos of the school
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it
- Degree in Music or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Music education
- Ability to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
- Effective communication and relationship‑building skills
- Commitment to high standards and student progress
- Willingness to contribute to the wider school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
