Economics Teacher – Sixth Form, DH1 Long-Term Supply | MPS/UPS £32,916 – £51,048 | September 2026
Teaching Personnel is recruiting a qualified Economics Teacher for a sixth form setting in DH1, with a September 2026 start date.
This is a specialist role requiring someone with both the subject knowledge and the academic rigour that sixth form teaching demands. You'll be working with A-Level students who are motivated, engaged, and preparing for university — and the school is looking for a teacher who can meet them at that level, challenge their thinking, and deliver lessons that go beyond the specification.
The role:
- Delivering A-Level Economics across Year 12 and Year 13
- Planning lessons that stretch and challenge high-ability sixth form students
- Preparing students for examinations and supporting with university applications where relevant
- Assessing and providing detailed, meaningful feedback on student work
- Contributing to the wider sixth form department and whole-school events
- Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities
What we're looking for:
- QTS or equivalent — essential
- A degree in Economics or a closely related discipline
- Experience teaching Economics at A-Level
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students at sixth form level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
