Music Programme Manager – Full Time, Permanent
Location: Northampton-based with regional travel | Salary: £28,624 p.a. | Start: As soon as possible

Are you passionate about the transformative power of music education? Do you have a flair for organisation and a commitment to ensuring all children and young people have access to exceptional musical opportunities? If so, this could be the role for you.

A leading education trust is seeking a Music Programme Manager to help deliver and develop a high-quality, inspiring programme of curricular and co-curricular music across a network of 36 state primary and secondary schools located throughout the East Midlands, London, Yorkshire and the Humber.

About the Role

As Music Programme Manager, you will play a key part in shaping the musical experiences of over 14,500 students annually. Working within a small but dynamic music team, you’ll collaborate closely with music leads, school-based teachers, and a team of musicians-in-residence to co-ordinate and support a wide range of music programmes, events, and trips.

You’ll need to be a confident self-starter—comfortable managing complex workloads, solving problems independently, and contributing as part of a team. The role requires travel to school and concert venues, so access to a vehicle or reliable transport is essential.

This is a full-time, permanent role (37 hours per week, year-round) based in Northampton, with flexibility for some remote working by prior agreement. Attendance at key events such as rehearsals and concerts (approximately 15 per year) is required, with time off in lieu provided.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Is creative, motivated, and passionate about music education

  • Communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Thrives in a varied, fast-paced environment

  • Shares our belief that music should be accessible to every child

What’s on Offer

  • Salary: £28,624 per annum (NJC14) – subject to April 2025 pay review

  • Leave: 31 days annual leave + statutory holidays

  • Pension: Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme

  • Wellbeing: Employee Assistance Programme and health initiatives

  • Perks: Recognition scheme, flexible working patterns, and staff discount platform (cinema, restaurants, holidays, etc.)

  • Cycle to Work Scheme

How to Apply

Full role details are available in the job description. If you are excited about this opportunity and believe you can help lead and shape an inspiring music programme across a vibrant school community, we’d love to hear from you.
