Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Music graduate who is seeking to gain further experience in a secondary school setting, to work as a Teaching Assistant within a large secondary school in Salford from September 2019.
Our client secondary school wish to appoint a motivated Music Graduate who ideally has an interest in becoming a teacher in the future and wished to gain immediate paid work experience from September 2019.
The role;
- Music Graduate required from September 2019 - full-time position.
- Twelve month temporary position starting in the new academic year (2019/2020)
- Opportunity to work within a supportive school that will look to aid your personal development as an aspiring teacher.
- Earn between £1000 -£1200 a month whilst learning key skills.
This is a wonderful opportunity where the successful Music Graduate will be able to gain experience, develop key skills and be able to put them into practice, all of which will contribute to becoming an 'Outstanding' teacher of the future.
The successful Music Graduate will be employed on a temporary basis for one full academic year. The role will incorporate working within the Music department providing support to the class teacher but will also have the opportunity to develop key skills in other areas of the school. The successful Music Graduate will have termly meetings with senior members of staff where progress can be reviewed and targets set to improve practice.
What does the role involve?
- Providing 1:1 support and tutoring to students who require additional support.
- Working as a general Teaching Assistant within the secondary school.
- Working closely with the teachers within the Music department (Supporting them with the setup of each lesson, assisting with planning and ensuring that everything is put away afterwards).
- Working with small groups of identified pupils to raise attainment both in Music and other subjects.
- Covering classes in the absence of the class teacher in Music and other subject areas.
The school that are recruiting ahead of September currently has around 1300 students on roll, making it larger than the average school in the area. Located near to Worsley in Salford (Boarding, Kearsley, Swinton and Prestwich) you will have access to an abundance of public transport links from the surrounding areas.
