Music Cover Supervisor 
Location: Walsall and surrounding areas
Pay Rate: £90 to £110 per day
Contract Type: Flexible, part time or full time


 

Role Overview
We are looking for confident and reliable Music Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across the Walsall area. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for music and experience working with young people who want a varied role in education without needing a formal teaching qualification.

You will supervise music lessons in the absence of the teacher, deliver pre set work and practical tasks, manage classroom behaviour and keep students engaged and on track. Lessons may include theory work, listening activities or classroom based practical tasks. No lesson planning is required. Your focus will be on supervision, encouragement and classroom leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise music lessons using pre prepared materials

Support students with written and practical music tasks

Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a focused learning environment

Encourage participation and positive engagement in lessons

Ensure equipment and resources are used safely and correctly

Work across different secondary schools as required

Represent the organisation professionally at all times

Candidate Requirements

Experience working with young people such as youth work, tutoring, sports coaching, mentoring or school based roles

Interest or background in music, performance or music technology

Confidence managing groups of students

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Flexible and willing to travel to different school locations

Reliable, punctual and adaptable

GCSEs or equivalent required with Music or a related subject (preferred)

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Right to work in the UK

Availability for weekday work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
