Job description

A vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint a dynamic and passionate Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join their dedicated team from September. The successful candidate will teach Spanish and French across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their language skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in communication.

The Role:

This is a full-time position, ideally suited to a qualified teacher with the ability to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons in both Spanish and French. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the MFL department to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that motivate students and support strong progress across all ability levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Spanish and French to students in Years 7–11

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback

  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation

  • Support extracurricular activities and events that enrich the MFL curriculum

  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student achievement

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A strong subject knowledge in both Spanish and French

  • A passion for languages and the ability to inspire students of all abilities

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • A commitment to high expectations and continuous professional development

  • A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
