Job description

A multicultural secondary school in central Oldham is looking for an MFL teacher (Spanish or French) to join its growing languages department in September. This is a school with a genuinely inclusive mission and a strong focus on language, literacy, and cultural awareness across the curriculum.

The MFL department is small but ambitious, offering a modern, communicative approach to language learning. Classrooms are equipped with interactive screens, and the department has access to digital language-learning platforms to support both class and homework tasks. Students benefit from regular exposure to authentic language via cultural enrichment projects, themed language weeks, and opportunities for trips abroad (when available).

This school serves a high proportion of pupils with English as an additional language and places real value on multilingualism. As a result, languages are highly respected and well supported by both senior leaders and parents.

This role would suit an MFL teacher who is passionate about developing language skills in a meaningful, engaging way. Applications are welcome from ECTs and experienced staff – particularly those with an interest in curriculum design, assessment, or SEND access to MFL.
