Pay: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a partner secondary school in Scarborough, who are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to provide vital 1:1 and small group support to students struggling with anxiety, trauma, and other mental health-related needs. This is a full-time, term-time role starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom

• Working closely with the SENCo and pastoral team to create tailored intervention plans

• Promoting positive mental health and emotional regulation strategies

• Building trusting relationships with pupils to foster engagement and resilience

• Assisting in developing and implementing behaviour support plans where appropriate

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (in a school, care, or youth work setting)

• Possess strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation skills

• Be resilient, proactive, and patient in challenging situations

• Hold relevant qualifications or training in mental health support, counselling, or psychology (desirable but not essential)

• Be confident working collaboratively within a school setting
