MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT ASISTANT
- Job Role: SEN Support Assistant
- Competitive pay: £10.77 per hour, weekly pay
- Location: BA2, Bath
- Start Date: As Soon As Possible!
- Type: Full Time/ Part Time/Long Term.
Are you confident and resilient? Do you have a genuine interest and desire to help those with SEN/SEMH needs? We work very closely with a warm and nurturing specialist secondary school in Bath (ages 12-18). The school are looking for SEN learning support assistants to help vulnerable pupils in the classroom and on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis. All classes in this school are small, ranging from 6-12 children in each class. Your role will include supporting the class teacher to make sure the students are engaged with learning and interaction and are safe whilst at the school. You must have the ability to remain calm and be empathetic in challenging situations. This is a school for those with emotional and mental health needs. Many students in this school have faced adversity in the past such as trauma and face significant barriers to learning. They can be highly disruptive and display challenging behaviour so confidence in behaviour management is essential.
The ideal candidate will have (but not essential):
- Sports coaching/ sporty background
- Study of a relevant degree (education, sociology, health & social care, psychology)
- Personal experience with SEN/SEMH
- Youth volunteering
- patience and resilience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
