Are you a Maths teacher looking to secure a progressive teaching role in a secondary setting? Are you located in or close to the Wigan LEA?

If so, see further details of an exciting opportunity that is set to commence on the schools return from the October Half-term.

  • Full-time Maths teaching opportunity.
  • Temporary employment in the first instance with opportunity for further employment. (Performance dependent.)
  • Pay in line with the MPS/UPS teaching pay scale.
  • Required to start after the schools return from the ‘October Half-term’.

“We are looking for a qualified Maths teacher who is able to join us and take on a teaching timetable, predominantly Key Stage 3 till at least Christmas. We’re ideally looking for someone who wants a permanent post and there will be the opportunity for them to join us as a member of our team in the future. There will be a support plan in place to assist with the transition to a new school and we could also provide support for any NQTs wishing to apply”

Although this is a full-time Maths teaching post the incoming teacher’s timetable will be made up of mainly KS3 Maths lessons. Despite this, the appointed teacher should be well prepared to teach GCSE lessons and may be required to as the year progresses.

The school is situated in Orrell, on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas; Skelmersdale, Chorley, Standish & Ashton-in-Makerfield. It is also a short drive away from the Merseyside areas. This is a smaller than average secondary school and currently had around 650 pupils on roll at present.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
