Job Advertisement: SEMH Maths Teacher – Alternative Provision
Location: Birkenhead
Position: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
Key Stages: 3 and 4
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEMH Maths Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Birkenhead. This rewarding full-time, temp-to-perm position offers the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a key member of the team, you will provide tailored Maths instruction to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering both academic and personal growth.
About You:
- Experience: Prior experience working within SEMH or alternative provisions is highly desirable.
- Compassionate: You have a genuine commitment to supporting young people, with the patience and empathy to meet students where they are.
- Resilient: You’re adaptable and resilient, able to manage challenges with a positive outlook and a dedication to helping students succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to the diverse needs of our students.
- Develop and implement strategies that promote both academic success and emotional well-being.
- Work collaboratively with our team to create a supportive, safe learning environment.
The ideal teacher would have had previous experience working in a similar setting and have a passion for supporting students who have difficulties in mainstream schools, keeping them engaged and wanting to learn, breaking down any barriers they have previously had towards education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
