Maths Teacher – Specialist School

We are working in partnership with a specialist school in Ormskirk to recruit a dedicated Maths Teacher for a full-time position starting in January, running initially until Easter 2026, with the potential for extension.

The Role:

• Delivering engaging and accessible Maths lessons to secondary-aged pupils

• Planning and adapting lessons to meet a range of individual learning needs

• Supporting pupils with additional needs to re-engage with education and build confidence

• Managing behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies

• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and senior leadership

• Monitoring progress and contributing to individual learning plans

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level

• Experience working within specialist, alternative, or SEN settings is desirable, but not essential

• Is calm, patient, and adaptable in their approach

• Can build strong relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning

• Is committed to inclusive and pupil-centred practice
