Maths Teacher – Specialist School
Location: Ormskirk
Start Date: January
Duration: January to Easter 2026
Contract: Full-time, with potential to extend
We are working in partnership with a specialist school in Ormskirk to recruit a dedicated Maths Teacher for a full-time position starting in January, running initially until Easter 2026, with the potential for extension.

The Role:
-
Delivering engaging and accessible Maths lessons to secondary-aged pupils
-
Planning and adapting lessons to meet a range of individual learning needs
-
Supporting pupils with additional needs to re-engage with education and build confidence
-
Managing behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies
-
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and senior leadership
-
Monitoring progress and contributing to individual learning plans
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
-
Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level
-
Experience working within specialist, alternative, or SEN settings is desirable, but not essential
-
Is calm, patient, and adaptable in their approach
-
Can build strong relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning
-
Is committed to inclusive and pupil-centred practice

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
