Job description

Maths Teacher – Alternative Provision (Fazakerley, Liverpool)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year

A well-established alternative provision based in Fazakerley, Liverpool is seeking a committed and skilled Maths Teacher to join their team for an immediate start. This is a full-time position running until the end of the academic year, supporting Key Stage 3 students who require a personalised and supportive approach to learning.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience delivering Maths across KS3, preferably in alternative provision or similar settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage learners and address diverse abilities and learning styles
  • Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment through effective behaviour management
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress, identifying areas for development
  • Collaborate with support staff and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to education

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge of the Maths curriculum at Key Stage 3
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds
  • Experience working with young people who may have social, emotional, or behavioural needs is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
