Maths Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Secondary School (Gorton)
Start Date: September | Paid to Scale | Full-Time | 1-Year Contract
A welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Gorton is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to cover a maternity leave starting in September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team, delivering high-quality maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students. The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging maths lessons across KS3 and KS4

Monitor and assess student progress in line with curriculum and school policies

Contribute to the department’s collaborative planning and resource sharing

Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Participate in parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and wider school life
Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
-
Experience teaching maths in a secondary school setting
-
A strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
-
Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
-
Commitment to maintaining high expectations for all students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
