Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and adaptable Maths Teacher to join our dedicated team, working across two specialist education provisions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people who require an alternative approach to education. While Maths will be your primary subject, you will also be willing and able to deliver a range of other subjects as required, supporting a broad and flexible curriculum.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work across two sites:

  • One provision supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges.
  • The second provision supports young people who are unable to attend mainstream school due to medical needs.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, personalised learning experiences that enable pupils to achieve both academically and personally. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Provide teaching and learning opportunities in a range of additional subjects where required.
  • Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of individual needs and abilities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Support students to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Contribute to individual learning plans, reviews and wider school development.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Is flexible and willing to teach a range of subjects beyond their specialism.
  • Has experience working with, or a strong interest in supporting, young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges and/or medical needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Is patient, adaptable and committed to helping every young person succeed.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference in young people's lives.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • A varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

If you are a dedicated teacher who believes every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, we would love to hear from you.
