Job description

Position: Maths Teacher – Part Time
Location: Bournemouth
Contract Type: Part-time, 3 days per week
Start Date: September 2025

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a well-established college in Bournemouth to recruit a dedicated Maths Teacher to support students retaking their GCSE Maths qualifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated teacher to work in a supportive post-16 environment focused on helping learners achieve their academic goals and progress in their careers or further education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver targeted GCSE Maths lessons to students resitting their exams, adapting teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress closely, providing feedback and tailored support to maximise achievement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and perseverance.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives focused on GCSE resit success.
  • Support students’ personal and academic development through mentoring and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings to share best practice and improve teaching standards.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching GCSE Maths
  • and a relevant degree in Maths.
  • Understand the challenges faced by resit students and apply effective strategies to support their progress.
  • Be confident using ICT and interactive teaching tools to engage learners.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Be committed to fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
