Teaching Personnel are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Havant who are looking for Maths Teacher from January. The school cater for secondary pupils that have been excluded from mainstream school so can have challenging behaviour however they may have other social and emotional needs alongside this. The class sizes are much smaller than mainstream with normally 4-5 pupils in a class with yourself and a Teaching Assistant. The would be a full time role that would go permanent providing you get on well.
You ideal candidate should:
- Be able to teach up to GCSE level Mathematics, even though most of the pupils will be a lower level than this
- Have strong behaviour management skills
- Be able to build a strong relationship with the pupils
- Experience working in a PRU or similar skill is an advance but mainstream teachers will be considered
- Be able to use a creative approach to engage the pupils
