Maths Teacher – Maternity Cover – Chorlton – September Start

Are you a passionate and skilled Maths teacher looking for a long-term opportunity in a supportive and successful school?

An Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Chorlton is seeking to appoint a dedicated Maths Teacher to cover a maternity leave from September 2025 for the full academic year. This is a full-time position, with pay in line with the Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale, depending on experience.

You’ll be joining a high-performing Maths department that prides itself on delivering a well-structured and engaging curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. The department is supportive, well-resourced, and committed to both student progress and staff development.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS and have experience teaching Maths at secondary level

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and classroom management skills

  • Be committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning

  • Be confident delivering to mixed-ability groups and supporting pupils of all backgrounds

  • Contribute positively to department planning and school life

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Contract: Full academic year (maternity cover), full-time

  • Pay: MPS/UPS (in line with experience and national Teacher Pay Scale)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
