Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Gateshead
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Pay: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel is working with a number of supportive secondary schools across Gateshead to recruit enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistants for September 2026. Whether your goal is to become a qualified teacher or simply gain hands-on experience in education, this role provides the perfect foundation.

Your Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-to-one and small-group Maths interventions that help students build confidence and improve attainment.
- Support classroom learning by working closely with experienced teachers.
- Encourage students to develop problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical thinking skills.
- Provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs, including SEN and SEMH.
- Build positive relationships that motivate students to engage with learning.
- Celebrate progress and help students overcome barriers to achievement.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment where every student can thrive.

- Passionate about Mathematics and eager to share that enthusiasm with young people.
- Holders of a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
- Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
