Mathematics Teacher Responsibilities
As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, your role will include:
- Teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available depending on experience)
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated Maths lessons
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports behaviour for learning
- Using assessment and feedback to drive pupil progress and attainment
- Supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Working closely with teaching assistants, ALN staff, and the wider Maths department
- Contributing to the school’s pastoral system and wider school life
Mathematics Teacher Requirements
To be considered for this Maths Teacher job in Newport, you must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised PGCE
- Experience teaching Mathematics in a UK secondary school
- Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Proven ability to differentiate lessons effectively
- A passion for Mathematics education and student success
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
