We are recruiting a qualified Mathematics Teacher for a secondary school in Newport, South Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths Teacher seeking full-time or part-time teaching work from January 2026.

Mathematics Teacher Responsibilities

As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, your role will include:

  • Teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available depending on experience)
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated Maths lessons
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports behaviour for learning
  • Using assessment and feedback to drive pupil progress and attainment
  • Supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, ALN staff, and the wider Maths department
  • Contributing to the school’s pastoral system and wider school life

Mathematics Teacher Requirements

To be considered for this Maths Teacher job in Newport, you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised PGCE
  • Experience teaching Mathematics in a UK secondary school
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Proven ability to differentiate lessons effectively
  • A passion for Mathematics education and student success
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
