Teacher of Mathematics - Middlesbrough

Job Description

Are you a Maths teacher who is qualified to teach at KS3 and KS4? Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Maths Teacher in one of our Middlesbrough based secondary schools.

  • Full-time Maths teacher
  • Starting in Janaury until July 2024 initially, with the outlook to a permanent contract if interested 
  • Pay in line with teacher pay scale from day 1
  • Planning, marking and delivering a full maths timetable across KS3 – KS4 in line with the current curriculum
  • Located in Middlesbrough

The school is looking for a candidate that is able to successfully support its four key values of creating students with positive relationships, resilience, respect, responsibility.

Details of the role:

  • To implement and deliver an appropriate, broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated Maths curriculum for students
  • Must be able to support a differentiated curriculum as appropriate
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the subject
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a UK recognised QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
  • Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
  • Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students
  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 level for Maths, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
  • Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff and students
  • Have a good level of ICT skills, ideally including innovative use of interactive white boards
  • Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies
  • Be able to communicate positively, both written and verbally

In order to be considered for this role, the Teacher will need to provide Bachelor of Education/ PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree, proven experience teaching the UK curriculum, must be eligible to work in the UK and have recent classroom-based references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
