Job description

Maths Tutor – KS3 & KS4 (Alternative Provision)
Location: Alnwick
Pay: £25–£35 per hour

Are you an experienced and passionate Maths Tutor looking to make a meaningful impact? TP Tutors is recruiting dedicated tutors to support KS3 and KS4 students in alternative provision settings. Tuition sessions take place in a variety of locations, including students’ homes, community hubs, and schools across Alnwick and wider Northumberland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum.

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and styles.

  • Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback using TP Tutors' bespoke reporting platform.

  • Build strong, supportive relationships to help students develop both academically and personally.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4.

  • Confidence working with students who may require additional support or learning adaptations.

  • Strong communication skills and a motivational teaching approach.

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS or PGCE—or significant equivalent experience.

  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working in alternative provision or with students facing educational challenges.

  • Effective behaviour management strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
