Makaton & PECS Trained Educators – Full-Time Roles

Location: Various Primary Schools
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Term Time)
Start Date: Immediate

Are you passionate about supporting children with communication needs and helping them thrive in education? We are seeking experienced educators trained in Makaton and/or PECS to work with pupils who require additional support with speech, language, and communication.

What we’re looking for:

Makaton and/or PECS Training: Ability to implement communication strategies effectively.
Safeguarding Knowledge: Active awareness and proactive implementation of safeguarding practices.
Experience & Qualifications: Previous experience in education or relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training).
Availability: Full-time, during standard school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM).
Commitment: A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

Your role will include:

Delivering 1:1 and small group support using Makaton and/or PECS.
Assisting pupils with communication challenges to engage in learning.
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and speech and language teams.
Maintaining accurate records and monitoring progress.
Proactively safeguarding all pupils and promoting a safe, inclusive school culture.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
