Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant – SEND

Start Date: September 2025
Location: Golborne, Warrington
Pay Rate: £89.44 – £130 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with the possibility of a permanent role)

A friendly and inclusive primary school in the heart of Golborne, Warrington is seeking to appoint a skilled and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school from September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis.
  • Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans and interventions.
  • Support children in developing key skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external agencies to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Contribute to planning, assessment, and progress tracking for children with SEND.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers to support pupil development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive practices and differentiated learning.
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs, ASD, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and SEND strategies within a primary setting.
