Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Level 3 Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming school team. This is an exciting opportunity to support our youngest learners during a crucial stage of their development, helping to create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.

Working alongside the EYFS Teacher, you will support children in their learning, play, and personal development while promoting positive relationships and ensuring high standards of care and education.

Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Nelson
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour  
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: Monday 2^nd November 2026

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of engaging EYFS learning activities in line with the Early Years Framework.
• Work with individual children and small groups to develop their communication, literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
• Encourage learning through play and child-led activities.
• Support children's emotional wellbeing and help foster positive behaviour.
• Assist with observations, assessments, and learning records.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support children with additional needs where required.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and resources.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or a related field.
• Previous experience working within an EYFS setting.
• A good understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Strong teamwork and organisational skills.
