Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We are working exclusively with a new client in Spalding to fulfil their recruitment for the new academic year September 2018. The school solely caters for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and for those who are unable to remain in mainstream education and who may also be at risk of not being able to remain in mainstream education.

Job Purpose: To work with young people as directed, providing support to the Executive SLT, Head of School and Teacher across a range of child centred activities which promote child development and learning.

This role is for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to be part of their Care Team. This role focuses heavily on intervention. You would be expected to support pupils in crisis through de-escalation techniques and strategies, preparing and supporting them to return to learning. You will also deliver small group or 1:1 intervention.

Person Specification:

You would be required to have experience working with young people or within adult care, 2 years relevant experience and Team Teach qualification is desirable but not essential as this training can be given. It is also essential to have good communication skills, be empathetic towards additional needs, versatility, creativity and resilience, as well as being able to plan and deliver small group or 1:1 interventions.
