Behaviour Support Worker – (LS17)
We are working with a friendly, welcoming primary school in North Leeds. The school enjoys strong relationships with parents, relatives, governors, and the PTA, who regularly support learning in the classroom, extra-curricular clubs, trips, and fundraising events. The LS17 area is perfectly located for transport between north Leeds and Wetherby.
As a Learning Support Worker, you will be expected to support a primary learner with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis. You will be expected to support the learner throughout their daily routine at school and assist them in taking part in the activities and tasks delivered by the class teacher. You will be providing support and building relationships with the learner, by guiding their attitude towards education in a safe and friendly environment and improving their learning ability.
The Primary school hope to find an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join them and help meet their shared goals and values.
This role is set for a January start
Pay: £70-90 / day
Working hours: Full time hours (Minimum 8.30am – 3.30pm) Term time only
Key Responsibilities:
- Working on a 1-2-1 basis with children with SEMH and SEND needs
- Supporting students with challenging behaviours
- Small group work and intervention support responsibilities
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant qualification in support work
- Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
- Previous experience working with SEND or SEMH children
