Job description

Experienced LSA Needed – SEND & Challenging Behaviour

Are you a passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have a calm, resilient approach and experience managing challenging behaviour?

We are currently seeking dedicated LSAs to work across Southampton and surrounding areas, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Location: Southampton and surrounding areas
Availability: Minimum 4 days per week (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025 starts available

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting children with SEND and challenging behaviour

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and staff

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – essential

  • A current Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

  • A positive, proactive and flexible attitude

Desirable:

  • Team Teach or similar behaviour management training

  • Experience in PRUs, specialist provisions, or one-to-one support roles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
