We are currently recruiting University students and graduates to work as Learning Support Mentors.
This role will require you to work on a full-time basis within a secondary school setting, supporting the needs of identified students in your specialist subject or in other areas. The students that you will be working with may be identified as challenging or have other needs such as SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health Needs.)
This is an exciting opportunity for those wishing to build experience working alongside students who are aged 11-16 and in a secondary setting. Training opportunities will be available to all applicants and a tailored introduction plan, including trial/inductions at a local and supportive secondary school.
Candidates with experience with the following would be desirable but not essential;
- SEN/Learning Difficulties
- Psychology knowledge/degree
- Youth/Community work
- Care working
- Mentoring
- Teaching
- Coaching
- Acting
Teaching Personnel are the preferred supplier for a number of secondary schools in the Wigan LEA and work with school to appoint support staff on temporary, permanent and daily staffing needs.
