Job description

Vacancy: Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time, Term Time Only)
Location: Winchester

We’re looking for a caring and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school supporting children aged 4–11 with additional learning needs.

These needs can be varied from Autism, to Learning Difficulties and some medical needs. You will need to be comfortable and confident supporting children, in the way suited to them, throughout the school day including arriving to class, learning through the day, playing, eating and developing social skills. 

About the role
You’ll work closely with teachers to support pupils in class and around the school. This includes helping with learning activities, providing one-to-one or small group support, and encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and social skills. You’ll also support behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Training & development
Full training is provided, including specialist SEND training and recognised courses such as PRICE. There are opportunities to gain further qualifications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
