Learning Support Assistant - Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Location: Dibden area (southampton)
Hourly Rate: £13.75
Working Hours: Term time only, flexible to suit your lifestyle

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? A warm, inclusive, and highly regarded specialist SEN school in Southampton is seeking a proactive, empathetic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in pupils’ lives. Previous SEN experience is valued but not essential, full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities

Provide both academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN in 1:1 and small-group settings.

Assist in delivering personalised learning plans and implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that encourages pupil engagement and independence.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other school professionals to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.

Support pupils with personal care and mobility needs in line with school policies and training.
Candidate Requirements

Experience working with children or young people (particularly within education or SEN settings) is advantageous.

A calm, patient, and adaptable approach when supporting pupils with a range of needs.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of children.

Willingness to undertake relevant training, including SEN-focused CPD.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
