Learning Support Assistant

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant/ Support Worker looking for a new role supporting students with both personal care and educational support?

We are looking for a passionate and committed member of staff to take on a part time SEN support role within a specialist unit at a school local to Chelmsford, Essex. The school support students with a range of complex needs, such as physical disabilities and a range of learning difficulties.

Many of the pupils within this unit are wheelchair users so experience with this would be highly beneficial. The school are looking for someone with experience in supporting students with moving and handling, and personal care.

Key skills & experiences for the role:

• Prior experience supporting pupils or children with SEN
• The ability to offer 1:1 support, personal care and/ or Manual Handling
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proactive and passionate personality
• Available immediately for a position 1-5 days per week 
• Ideally you will already have a Child and Adult Workforce DBS on the online update service (or if not you are happy to obtain one)

The position is a full time, long-term role with a view to a permanent position on offer for the right members of staff. A trial can also be offered to view the setting first-hand and meet the pupils to gain an understanding of the requirements of the position. The role involves high levels of personal care however the setting is also passionate about educating young minds and are therefore a mixture of care and education experience is highly desired.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
