Teaching Personnel is the UK’s leading education recruitment agency. We are currently seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work at one of our SEN schools local to the Colchester, Essex area. The school supports students with a range of complex needs across Primary and Secondary education, specialising in Autism. The role will involve; working within the class to support the class teacher with their lessons, working alongside a team of support staff in class, working on a 1:1 basis with students.

This is a full time role, starting in September 2020. It is a temporary position with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

To be successful in this role it is desirable if you:

  • have experience working within a school setting
  • have experience working with children and/or adults with learning difficulties
  • be resilient and confident working with challenging behaviour
  • have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, or a willingness to learn
  • have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional and personal well-being
  • be nurturing and enthusiastic
  • have experience in delivering outdoor education/experience within the sports industry

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
