Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for an SEN teaching assistant who ideally has experience working with children or adults with Autism.
An ideal candidate will:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with Autism
- Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies
- Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children and young people
The Role:
You will be working within an SEN school based local to Colchester, Essex in classes alongside other experienced SEN TA's and a specialist Teacher. For this position you will ideally need experience working with young people on the Autism spectrum in a school or care setting, however this is not essential.
- Motivating and encouraging the pupil as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils' needs
- Liaising with class teacher, SENCO and other professionals about individual education plans (IEPs), contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate
- Ensuring the pupils are able to use equipment and materials provided
If you are applying for this role, there are a few things we require from you. You must have:
- References from your two most recent employers.
- A DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one at a cost of GBP40.
- Experience working with children in a capacity including Youth Worker, Schools, Coaching or Nursing
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills; written and verbal

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
