Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time, Immediate Start)
A highly supportive and well-resourced specialist setting in Somerset, working with secondary pupils aged 11–14.
This is a welcoming and inclusive specialist provision dedicated to supporting young people with additional needs.
The school is known for its nurturing ethos, strong pastoral care and commitment to helping every pupil reach their full potential.
Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment where students feel safe, valued and understood.
Pupils have a range of Special Educational Needs including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) & Communication and interaction needs
The Role

Full-time position with an immediate start
-
Working hours 8.30am to 4.30pm

Supporting students in class and through targeted interventions
-
Secondary work with pupils aged 11–14
-
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Promoting independence and confidence
Requirements
-
Minimum 6 months childcare experience
-
Experience supporting children with SEN needs is essential

Patient, resilient and proactive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
