Job description

We are working with a SEN school and college to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to work with their young people.

The pupils in this provision are aged 11-25 and all have a diagnosis of some form of complex learning difficulty including Autism, SEMH and PMLD. As a result of these needs there is lower-level learning than a traditional school and a higher level of nurture support. The pupils who are college age have a curriculum based around independent living and life skills. There is an option to work in either the secondary provision or the college provision.

Due to their additional needs the pupils present behaviours that require a higher level of support which you as the Learning Support Assistant would be helping to provide.

The successful learning support Assistant would:

  • Work with these pupils in class and around the school building
  • Help create a safe environment for learning
  • Support emotional regulation and calm behaviour
  • Have experience of working with additional needs in a personal or care capacity
  • Have a friendly and proactive personality

Our school in Cheadle is looking for someone to begin in October with immediate plans to join the school on a full-time contract, so please apply today with your most recent CV if you wish to begin your career as Learning Support Assistant.  The school is seeking both temporary and permanent staff with negotiable pay.

Due to working with young people you would be subject to standard vetting checks including two recent references and a Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service.
