Job description

Are you an experienced and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? One of our partner Post‑16 education settings in the Stockton‑on‑Tees (TS19) area is seeking a full‑time Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive and inclusive team.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to Post‑16 learners with a range of additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, Autism, and ADHD
• Support learners with classroom activities, coursework, and independence skills
• Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and wellbeing at all times
• Work closely with tutors and wider support teams to deliver personalised learning strategies
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and inclusion within a further education setting
• Support learners’ academic, social, and emotional development

Who can apply?

We are looking for individuals who:
• Have previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs
• Are comfortable supporting personal care tasks as part of their role
• Are patient, nurturing, and able to build strong, professional relationships
• Have experience in education, FE, SEN, care, or related sectors

 Requirements:

Teaching Personnel will support successful applicants with:
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• References covering the last two years of employment
• Relevant safeguarding and compliance training
