Learning Support Assistant - St Helens

Location: St Helens
Salary: £90 - £110(Dependent on experience and requirements)
Start Date: January 2026

Are you passionate about working with children, to support and encourage their learning?
We are working with a Secondary School in St Helens, to support in recruiting a full-time Learning Support Assistant.

Role Overview:

  • Provide 1-1 and small-group support to students with additional learning needs(SEND, SEMH or EAL).
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to implement and execute personalised learning plans for students.
  • Help support and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students both academically and emotionally to ensure they reach their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (ideally in a school setting).
  • A patient, caring, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

Teaching qualifications are not required—this is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start or further a career in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
