Learning Support Assistant (SEN) – Secondary School, Salford
Full-Time | September 2026 Start
A forward-thinking secondary school in Salford is seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This role will focus on providing targeted support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
About the Role:
Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN department, you will:
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Assist in adapting classroom activities to ensure all students can access the curriculum
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions tailored to individual learning plans
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning
- Help manage behaviour in line with the school’s policies and SEN strategies
About You:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable; however, applicants with relevant transferable experience (e.g. care, youth work, support work, coaching) are encouraged to apply
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
