Learning Support Assistant – Secondary SEN Schools
Location: Portsmouth and surrounding areas
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Contract Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking motivated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work within Secondary SEN schools across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students access learning in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Working alongside teachers and other education professionals, you will provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of each student.
Your responsibilities may include:

Providing one-to-one support for students with additional learning needs

Assisting small groups during classroom activities and interventions
-
Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural development
-
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning

Working closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies

Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
About You

Strong communicators who can build positive relationships with students and staff

Adaptable and able to respond to the varying needs of learners

Experienced in education, care, support work, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)
Safeguarding and Compliance
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through the registration process.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
