Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes from September 2026. This is a full-time position (5 days per week), working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm.
Salary
- £92–£110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 11–18 to achieve their academic and personal goals. Working closely with teachers and the SEND team, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with their learning in both one-to-one and small group settings.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
- Support pupils with additional educational needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents where appropriate.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working in a secondary school or experience supporting young people aged 11–18.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed.
- Relevant qualifications or previous experience in education or support work are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
